Kaufman County Court Calendars Explained
The official Kaufman County Docket Calls page posts calendars for County Court at Law and County Court at Law 2. It is not a master calendar for the three district courts, four justice courts, or city municipal courts. Each of those venues can use its own clerk, coordinator, notice, and posting method.

The source image records the county calendar route. The county warns that a docket may not be posted and that changes within two weeks of court may not be reflected. Treat the online list as a snapshot. The filed notice and direct court confirmation remain the sound route for a specific setting.
Kaufman Docket Calls Are Snapshots
A missing name on Docket Calls is not proof that no hearing exists. The page covers selected county-law dockets and carries an express limitation on posting and recent changes. Search the underlying case and ask the assigned clerk or coordinator about the next setting.
Calendar rule: Preserve the court name, posting date, docket-call date, case number, setting label, and warning when saving a calendar result.
That record makes later verification possible if the page changes. It also prevents a county-law calendar from being mistaken for a district, JP, or city schedule.
Finding Your Kaufman Court Date
Use every available channel. Start with the notice or citation, then check county Court Search or the calendar maintained by the named court. Call the clerk or coordinator, visit the clerk counter, ask about a courthouse posting or public terminal, and compare the date with counsel's notice. Forney separately exposes a Trial Dockets route for its municipal court.
- Identify the exact court on the newest paper.
- Search the cause or citation number in that court's official tool.
- Read the most recent setting and any later reset entry.
- Confirm the date, time, location, judge or court, and setting type directly.
- Keep the source and confirmation date with personal case notes.
Kaufman Motion Dates Need Notice
The 86th District Court rules show why a docket entry alone may be incomplete. Motion practice includes obtaining a hearing date and filing a separate notice. A conference certificate may also be required. Those are distinct steps, so a motion appearing in the file does not itself prove that a hearing has been set.
Published rules also address proposed orders within five business days after a hearing and separate rejection language tied to thirty days. Verify the current document and the coordinator's instructions before relying on either period.
How to Read a Court Setting
A Kaufman County setting line should be read as a set. The date without the court or setting type can mislead. A docket call may give one session time for many matters, while an individual notice can supply a more specific time. Compare the newest entry with the filed notice.
| Date | The scheduled day, subject to a later reset or continuance. |
|---|---|
| Time | The docket-call time or individual appearance time. |
| Location | The court, building, courtroom, or approved remote method. |
| Court | The assigned judge or numbered court, which controls confirmation. |
| Setting type | Plea, arraignment, pretrial, motion hearing, trial, or other event. |
Kaufman Calendar Terms in Plain Words
Calendar language describes process, not always outcome. Learn the term before drawing a conclusion from a short entry.
- Docket call
- A list of cases set for a court session.
- Setting
- A scheduled court event.
- Reset
- A new date assigned to an event.
- Continuance
- A court-approved delay.
- Disposition
- The recorded result of a case or charge, not another hearing date.
JP3's Wednesday plea-entry window and filing cutoffs are administrative windows. They should not be read as the hearing date for every JP3 case.
Continuances, Resets, and Cancellations
A reset replaces one setting with another. A continuance is the court's delay of a proceeding. A cancellation removes an event but does not necessarily dispose of the case. Check for the newest signed order or clerk entry, because the county calendar may not display a recent change.
Do not infer that a case ended because an older date vanished. Call the coordinator or clerk for the assigned court, not the judge, and ask whether a new notice was entered. If counsel represents a party, compare the court's answer with counsel's latest notice.
Forney Uses a Separate Calendar
The City of Forney's official Find page includes a Trial Dockets path. That municipal route is separate from Kaufman County Docket Calls. It applies to matters in Forney Municipal Court, not district or county-law cases.
The official source image shows the local navigation used to reach calendar material.

Keep the municipal court name with the saved date so the city calendar is not confused with a county setting.
Kaufman Federal Calendar Boundary
A federal case arising in Kaufman County does not use county Docket Calls. Kaufman is served through the Dallas Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. PACER provides federal docket reports and date-range controls under federal access rules and fees.
Keep that route separate from state district and county-law calendars. The assigned federal court controls the official setting, even when a free RECAP copy of a document is available elsewhere.
Missed Kaufman Court Settings
Contact the clerk and any attorney at once. Ask what the docket now shows, whether an order or warrant issued, and what approved step is needed. Do not simply appear in a courtroom without checking the court's current instructions.
Missed a setting? Consequences depend on the case and court and may include a failure-to-appear entry, warrant, or bond action.
Call the assigned clerk or attorney promptly and follow the court's approved process for a new setting.
Seek advice from a licensed lawyer when legal rights or a warrant may be involved.
The county Court Search, Docket Calls page, clerk phone line, counter, mailed notice, courthouse posting, public terminal, and registered re:SearchTX layer each provide only part of the picture. Direct confirmation resolves conflicts.
